Resisting an officer, possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Tomeka Antoinette Charles, 41, 632 block of Pamella Street, Opelousas. DWI first offense, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, open container. Arrested by Opelousas Police.
Paula Oreaella Castello, 37, 400 block of Mayer Street, Washington. Unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution or possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes, filing or maintaining false public records, injuring public records. Arrested by Louisiana State Police.

Eunice Police and St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies executed search warrants at two locations in Eunice beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.

Eunice Police and St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies executed search warrants at two locations in Eunice beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The residences were on Townhome Drive and at South Mallet and North Street, he said .
The search warrants were in relation to shootings that have occurred in Eunice., he said.
In the process, several weapons were seized along with drugs, he said.
Many of the people were found sleeping with guns nearby, he said.

Sheriff: Detective terminated after he is named by drug dealer

A St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s detective was terminated as the result of an undercover drug operation in Eunice, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
The story about the termination of William “Billy” McCauley broke on the website Louisiana Voice.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted an undercover operation in Eunice on Feb. 19, Guidroz said in a news release.
