A flurry of tickets were written at the four-way stop at U.S. 190 and La. 13 on Monday.
The intersection previous to an early Saturday morning wreck involving four vehicles had been governed by traffic lights.
But it was back to drivers waiting on each other in rotation to make a move.
However, some drivers missed the change and ended up getting cited by Eunice Officer Joey Fontenot, who wrote comments on some of the tickets.
Those comments include the following.
08:47 Driver stated that she was not paying attention.
09:19 Driver stated that she has a lot on her mind and didn’t see the intersection.
09:46 Driver stated that she forgot that it was a 4-way stop.
09:55 Driver stated that he didn’t know he had to stop.
10:42 Driver stated that he didn’t notice that the light was out until he got under it.
12:13 Driver stated that she was not sure what to do at intersection.
12:30 Driver stated that he should have stopped but he was not thinking right.
12:39 Driver stated that she never saw an intersection with stop signs.
13:00 Driver stated that he was talking on the phone and never saw the stop sign.
13:14 Driver stated that he saw the stop sign but thought it was for the turning lane not him. Nice attitude.
16:00 Crash.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot said the traffic light may be back in operation by the first part of next week.
