Local high schools and LSU Eunice are preparing to honor the Class of 2026 with commencement ceremonies this week, marking the end of an academic journey for hundreds of area students.

The St. Landry Parish turnout for Saturday’s election could be lower than anticipated, said Registrar of Voters Byron Stelly. Stelly said his prediction five days before the May 16 parishwide election day is based on completed early voting and main-in ballot totals that have been processed through his office.

Holli LaFleur received a gift from her son this Mother’s Day, which means the world to her considering he passed away nearly five years ago.
Gaige Anthony LaFleur died from a gun accident inside his home on June 21, 2021, when he was just 15 years old.

Free Hunters Ed Course May 15-May 16
In Eunice On May 15 and May 16 there will be a chance to obtain yur hunting license.
A free meal will be provided by Masonic Harmony Lodge in Eunice, at 211 West Park Avenue.
On May 15 the course is from 6 to p.m. and on May 16 the course is from 8 a.m.

Mom is an excellent cook, and used to run the family business, Cajun Creations, so crawfish pies, crab meat au gratin, creole, etouffee, and bisque all come easy to her.
