Woman arrested for theft at truck stop

An Opelousas woman was arrested for theft and simple burglary at the Quarters Casino and Truck Plaza in Opelousas. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said that on April 4 a surveillance video showed that the female arrived in a red Ford F-150 pickup and went inside the store.

A man was shot three to five times in the chest in a drug deal gone bad at South 2nd Street and West Maple on Thursday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. The shooting occurred in a pickup truck on the side of Brownie’s, a popular convenience store on West Maple after 1 p.m.
