DOTD announces Acadia Parish project

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that 16 projects around the state were recently bid upon. Thirteen contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $29.1 million.

Crime Stoppers requests tips about stolen 18-wheelers

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating two 18-wheeler thefts that occurred in the 100 block of Frontage Road, near Duson on Aug 10 and 14. On Aug. 10, multiple suspects stole a 2014 Peterbuilt Freightliner, black in color with “Dailey Trucks, LLC” on the cab.

Deputies find pot, pistol and fake dough

A suspicious vehicle has led to the recovery of a stolen firearm and counterfeit money at 12:08 a.m. Aug. 13, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson. Deputies located a suspicious vehicle on Ella Louis Drive just north of Crowley. The vehicle was occupied by three males.

Acadia St. Landry Hospital Service District millage passes
