Mosquito spraying increased in Acadia Parish

With the rise in heat and humidity, there is also a rise in the mosquito population in Acadia Parish. Currently, mosquito control trucks have a set route throughout the parish, according to officials at the Acadia Parish Police Jury.

COVID-19 testing planned in Eunice

Free testing for COVID-19 is scheduled Wednesday and Friday at Eunice High School, according to a news release from Van Reed, St. Landry Parish director of Emergency Preparedness and public information officer. This week’s testing will be third time the service has been offered here.

Brenda M LaFleur passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the age of 71. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Father Kennon Brown officiating. Private burial will follow in St Augustine Cemetery.
