Eunice Police officers began receiving a $3 an hour pay raise in January in attempt to retain and attract trained officers.
The starting pay moved up to $12.75 an hour.
Voters in May 2019 approved a 0.25% sales tax to fund the pay raise.
Mardi Gras throws of full cans of beer and Jello shots are drawing the attention of Eunice Police.
“We’ve got complaints about people throwing full cans of beer,” Chief Randy Fontenot said.
And there are reports of people throwing Jello shots form the Mardi Gras trailers, he said.
EUNICE — It is with heavy hearts that the family of Errol J. Young announces his passing at the Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation in Eunice on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at the age of 90. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2 p.m.

Donald “Troy” Guillory passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the age of 50. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Chataignier with Reverend Gary Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in St Thomas More Cemetery in Eunice.
