The following are arrests by Eunice Poilce. February 7 Robert Paul Fontenot, 37, 1500 block of Williams and 700 block of East Peach, Eunice. Stop sign violation, registration of bicycle, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana 14 grams or less.

Season tickets on sale for Players’ Theatre Eunice Players’ Theatre now has season tickets for their 51st season on sale. Single tickets are $30 for a single ticket; $100 for a Patron (4 tickets), and $150 for an Angel (6 tickets).

The National Academy of Arts & Sciences likes the way UL Lafayette filmmaker Charles Richard tells a war story. The academy has awarded a Louisiana Public Broadcasting film written by Richard a Suncoast Emmy Award for Best Historical Documentary.

Eunice Mardi Gras schedule

The Eunice Mardi Gras music line up is scheduled for downtown Eunice beginning Feb. 21 and continues through Feb. 25 — Mardi Gras. The Eunice Mardi Gras season begins with the 10th annual Taster’s Choice event at the LSUE Acadian Center from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 19.

Health officials investigating norovirus outbreak in Lake Charles

The Louisiana Office of Public Health is investigating an outbreak of norovirus in the Lake Charles area that appears to be spreading in the Calcasieu and Vernon Parishes.

Mamou Mardi Gras schedule

Council OKs Acadia-St. Landry Hospital tax on ballot

The St. Landry Parish Council approved placing a tax proposal for the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital Service District on the May 9 ballot. Cindy Walters, hospital CEO, spoke at the Parish Council’s meeting Wednesday in Opelousas. The proposal is for a 10-mill property tax for 10 years.
