LSUE awarded $162K Workforce grant

Clavier elected Parish Council chairman

Coby Clavier, who started his second term this month on the St. Landry Parish Council, was elected chairman at Wednesday’s meeting. Clavier served as vice chairman in 2019 and as chairman of the Public Works Committee in 2016.

By a 5-3 vote, the Acadia Parish School board approved a three-year extension of Superintendent Scott Richard’s contract. The vote followed an hour-long executive session and was preceded by an attempt to put the vote off for a month.

Missing girl may be in Eunice area

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 17-year-old Makailyn Guillory who was last seen on Dec. 29, 2019, in the Kathy Apartment complex in Crowley. It is believed she left with a friend to go to Grand Coteau.
