James “Todd” Johnson passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the age of 56. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery.

John Hilbert Leger Sr.

John Hilbert Leger Sr. passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at the age of 71. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 14, at St Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice with Father Austin Leger officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is notifying users that Fort Polk-Vernon and Peason Ridge Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) will be closed the weekend of Oct. 26-27 due to military training by the U.S. Army.

Air conditiioning again closes Prairie Acadian Cultural Center

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice is temporarily closed as of Wednesday. Air conditioning needs have persisted and continue to result in temporary closures.
