Chataignier Council OKs buying radios, property sale

Village Police Officer Gail McDavid requested the Chataignier Village Council purchase two additional hand held radios during the council meeting Monday. “The radio is a lifeline of a police officer when he’s on the street,” McDavid explained.

According to national political pundits, there is a revolution going on all over America. Voters are in a rebellion mode with little confidence in the political leadership at both the national and state levels. Being an incumbent politician is no longer a badge of honor.

Boozy times in Gueydan

Gueydan smelled like booze for days after thousands of bottles of illegal liquor were smashed on a railroad siding there in 1929. Some of the citizenry kept a faint odor and a happy smile for months after they rescued bottles that didn’t get smashed.

TRIAD workshop held at VFW post

The TRIAD workshop was held Wednesday at the VFW Post Hall in Eunice. This is the 100th TRIAD workshop and its 25th year anniversary. A large crowd of seniors enjoyed guest speakers, live music entertainment, bingo, door prizes from local merchants and health care providers, and a noon luncheon.
