Voter registration deadlines listed Cheryl Milburn, St. Landry Parish registrar of voters, has announced that the last day to register to vote in person or by mail for the Oct. 12 election will be Sept. 11. The deadline for GeauxVote.com online electronic registration will be Sept. 21.

Tips sought in Rayne vehicle burglaries

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating several vehicle burglaries which occurred between July 7 and 10 in the area of Quarter Pole Road and Habetz Loop near Rayne. Multiple subjects on bicycles were seen on video surveillance.

Crawfish, shrimp labeling law to begin Sept. 1

Following action by the Louisiana Legislature and Gov. John Bel Edwards, restaurants and distributors that offer cooked or prepared crawfish or shrimp must notify their customers if these seafood items came from outside the United States. The notice must be printed on menus.
