Bertha Lee “Leigh” Young Krueger, 78, passed away on December 28, 2018 at Monroe County Regional Hospital in Tompkinsville, KY. She was born in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana on January 18, 1940 to Walter and Amanthe Courville Young.

Crash kills Basile man on U.S. 190

Maritan Romero, 56, of Basile, died after the moped he was driving was involved in a crash with a car on U.S. 190 near LA 3068 in Evangeline Parish at about 10 p.m. Jan. 1, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release.   Romero was traveling west in the right lane on U.S.
