Police: Eunice homeowner thwarts burglary; gets shot

A Eunice homeowner stopped the burglary of his pickup truck at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, but was shot in the stomach and is in critical condition at a Lafayette hospital, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Juanita Street.

Information sought about burglary in Iota

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s investigators are seeking the public’s assistance to solve a residential burglary reported on July 10 in the 1900 block of Ray Milner Road in Iota. Items were stolen out of a home being remodeled.
