The following is an arrest by Eunice Police. Dec. 8 Delridge Robinson, 22, 10 block of Townhome Drive, Eunice. Possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation controlled drug law.

Agenda light for Tuesday’s city meeting

The agenda is fairly light for the Eunice Board of Aldermen’s meeting Tuesday. The agenda for the meeting that begins at 6:15 p.m. includes three show cause hearings for properties that may be condemned. The properties are at 411 S. 10th St., 1241 Gregg St., and 320 Jelks St.

Simpson, Andrepont, Guillory win election

Incumbent Germaine Simpson is returning to her Ward 2 Eunice Board of Aldermen seat and Chad Andrepont has won the Ward 1 seat in the Saturday election. Simpson defeated challenger Jackie “JuJu” Vallare with 57percent of the vote. There were 456 votes cast — 26.2 percent turnout.

Council puts ribbon on parish budget

The St. Landry Parish Council added a package of amendments to Parish President Bill Fontenot’s budget that are intended to save more than $500,000 by next December. And, there are other budget items to create $1.4 million in budget savings, but they require additional Council action.

Superintendent gets his grade: It’s Proficient

The St. Landry Parish School Board graded Superintendent Patrick Jenkins as Proficient in an annual evaluation presented Thursday. Jenkins is in his second year leading the school district ranked 51st in the state in the state’s school performance scores.
