Apparent road rage leads to attempted murder charges

A Rayne man faces attempted murder charges after an apparent road-rage incident Sunday night. Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said Michael Nugent, 22, was booked into the parish jail on two counts of attempted second-degree murder afte he allegedly fired a gun at a vehicle.

Sunday shooting victim ID’d

Police have officially released the name of the man killed in a shooting here Sunday afternoon. According to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard, Brydon “B.K.” Gray, 26, died after being shot multiple times outside a residence in the 700 block of Leslie Amos Street around 6 p.m. on Sunday.
