The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Oct. 19 Welsey M. Edwards, 45, 1000 block of N. CC Duson, Eunice. Probation warrant. Brooke E. Louviere, 23, 300 block of N. East St., Eunice.

Warrant out for former Bunkie Police Chief

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former Bunkie Police Chief Bobby Corner and another Bunkie police officer, according to reliable sources. The Louisiana State Police investigated the police department earlier this year. Corner has reportedly agreed to turn himself in today.

DSAA Buddy Walk set for Oct. 27 The Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana will have its 14th annual Buddy Walk on Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Parc International, 200 Garfield Street, downtown Lafayette. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Cost is $15 per person.

Eunice High ACT scores improve

Eunice High School’s composite ACT score, a test of college readiness for high school students, rose to 18.8 in results for the 2017-2018 school year. The previous year’s Eunice High School score was 18.3. The St. Landry Parish score was 18.4, down from 18.7 the previous year.
