Voter registration deadlines near

The last day to register to vote in person/by mail for the Nov. 6 will be at 4:40 p.m. Oct. 9, Cheryl Milburn, registrar of voters of St. Landry Parish, has announced. Registration online at Geaux Vote.Com is available through Oct. 16.

Sewer line washout

A portion of the parking lot at the Amy Shopping Center washed out due to a sewer line collapse on Tuesday. Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said the city will repair the sewer line, but is still looking into who is responsible for the pavement.
