Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Aug. 10 Gary Paul Wilson, 56, 400 block of Nimitz, Eunice. Probation violation. Aug. 11 Dustin Dwayne Higginbotham, 34, 1300 block of Nile, Eunice. Aggravated second-degree battery and entry on or remaining in places or on land after being forbidden.

Suzanne Herrera Doucet

Suzanne Herrera Doucet passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at the age of 71. No services have been scheduled at this time. Suzanne is survived by three sons: Jonathan Doucet of Basile, Jason Doucet of Basile, Scott Doucet of Church Point, one daughter, Victoria Semien of Church Point.

A memorial service for Devin Marc Sanders, 33, will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice from 4:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6:00 PM. The memorial service will follow the rosary, officiated by Deacon Gary Gaudin.

DOTD to begin La. 106 project

Beginning Wednesday, construction will begin on a $3.04 million project on La. 106 from La. 13 to U.S. 167 between mileposts 9.9 to 14.4 in Evangeline Parish, according to DOTD. The work is estimated to take place on Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
