EUNICE~Helen Tanner passed away in the comfort of her home on Friday June 08, 2018 at the age of 95 with loving family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St.

Hubert Joseph Blanchard

Hubert Joseph Blanchard passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the age of 79. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Fr. Clinton Sensat will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Eunice.

Louis Guillory

Louis Guillory passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the age of the 80. No Memorial Services have been scheduled at this time. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Andrus of Eunice and Jenny Klumpp and husband Mitch of Tepetate; one sister, Florence Brown of Basile; five grandchildren.

Departing education leader decries funding shortfall

Joseph Rallo, the state’s departing higher education leader, said Thursday that parents and students should “feel outraged” that lawmakers failed for a second time to raise enough revenue to fully fund TOPS and avoid significant cuts at universities.
