UBS drive set Friday at Walmart Blood donations are needed now to prepare for Memorial Day weekend blood needs. The United Blood Services mobile will be in Eunice from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Walmart parking lot in Eunice.

Summer heat relief on the way

As the summer heat started returning in the past few weeks, construction continued on two splash pads in Eunice. One site is behind Central Middle School and the second pad is near the tennis courts at the Fairground Park. Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said the splash pads may be ready by mid-June.

School Board focuses on dropouts

After nearly a month’s focus on graduation, St. Landry Parish School Board members turned their attention to dropouts. The Board’s Executive Committee approved an agreement with the Louisiana Workforce Commission to engage the Out-of-School Youth program.
