EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Chester Benjamin "Benny" Thibodeaux, II announces his passing on Thursday, March 08, 2018 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice at the age of 83.

Melanie Soileau Landreneau

Melanie Soileau Landreneau passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the age of 56. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 2:00 PM. at St. Ann's Church in Mamou. Inurnment will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in Mamou.

Bulb Blossom meeting set Monday The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will meet on at 6 p.m. Monday at the residence of Donna Baltakis. There will be a plant exchange and all members are asked to bring a plant. Ranger Bellard of the Prairie Acadian Center will be the guest speaker.

Never time for Daylight Saving

I’m already dreading it. On Sunday, March 11, at 2 a.m., daylight saving time, the practice of moving our clocks forward one hour in the spring and backward one hour in the fall, will commence.

Early voting begins Saturday

Early voting for the March 24 election is scheduled to begin Saturday. Voting will again be available at the Eunice City Hall on March 10, and March 15 to 17. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Early voting also will be held at the St. Landry Parish Registrar of Voters Office March 10 and March 12 to 17.
