Did You Know? Bogus threats result in penalties

National attention was recently brought to Florida where 17 students tragically lost their lives to a disturbed gunman. This started an onslaught of bogus threats that closed a neighboring parish school down. In our parish, our office investigated a bomb threat and three gun complaints.

Beef Cook-off scheduled Saturday

The 33rd annual Here’s the Beef Cook-off is scheduled Saturday at the St. Landry Parish Ag Arena, U.S. 190 West, Opelousas. The St. Landry Parish Cattlemen’s Association dedicated this year’s cook-off to Dalton Comeaux, who organized and was a member of the St. Landry Parish Cattlemen’s Association.
