State Fire Marshal investigators have determined that combustible items placed too close to a wood stove ignited, causing a fire that resulted in the death of a Lake Charles woman and injuries to her daughter and grandson.

ELTL spring registration begins Monday The Eunice Ladies Tennis League spring registration will begin Monday at Eunice City Hall from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Registration will end on Jan. 19. Dues are $25 and includes 12 weeks of play and an-end-of-season tennis banquet.

Into the mission fields
