Sheriff: 2 arrested after road rage incident

A Saturday road rage incident turned into shots being fired at a vehicle on Interstate 10 near Rayne, according to news release from Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
Deputies received a call regarding a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner at about 2:30 a.m. The caller said the driver of this vehicle was cursing and hollering at him. During this incident, the passenger of the suspect vehicle fired several shots at the other vehicle involved.
“Two rounds struck the vehicle in the bumper and side mirror. Thankfully no one was injured and our deputies were able to stop the suspect vehicle without further incident” Gibson said.
The passenger, identified as Jordan Provost, 25, Jennings, has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on two counts of attempted second- degree murder, Gibson said. The driver, identified as Aaronton Williams, 26, Jennings, was booked on outstanding warrants, he said.
Additional charges are pending in this matter.
