Acadia Parish sheriff requests informaiton about fatal hit and run

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from the public regarding a fatal hit and run crash, which occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Lovell Street.
The victim, identified as Jeanette Clifton, 78, of Crowley, was struck by a vehicle believed to be traveling west on Lovell Street. The victim was walking home from a neighbor’s residence when she was struck.

Update: woman missing, Tyla Meche found

Update: The search for Tyla Meche, 34, of Church Point, who has been identified as being in the vehicle when Briscoe was shot has been found.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson, "Tyla Meche who we have been searching for in a wooded / swampy area in the Branch Community has been located and is alive. We received information on her whereabouts within the last 30 minutes and deputies were able to locate her at a residence on the Church Point Highway just north of Branch where she was hiding."

Church Point Police seek information to find suspect

Church Point Police are seeking the public’s assistance regarding a Dec. 21, 2018, shooting which occurred at the Martin Luther King Park at 5:25 p.m. 
Officers discovered that two people were shot during a robbery. Both victims received non-life threatening injuries. 
A juvenile suspect has been arrested.

Duson man charged in fatal crash

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office Fatality Crash Team continues an investigation into a Dec. 23 crash on Riceland Road north of Soldier Road in eastern Acadia Parish, according to a news release from Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
The investigation has revealed that a 1990 Jeep Wrangler was traveling on Riceland Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle in a curve and overturned. One of the passengers received critical injuries and has been hospitalized since the accident.

Sex offenders sought in Acadia Parish

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has taken a hard stance in assuring sex offenders have complied with registration requirements as per Louisiana law, a news release from Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson stated.
Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish is seeking information to locate wanted sex offenders.
