2nd teen arrested in fatal Church Point shooting

A second teen has been arrested in the Nov. 3 shooting that left a 14-year-old Church Point boy dead.
Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said Cameron Lorenzo Byers, 16, of Church Point has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
Byers is to stand trial as an adult, he said.
Byers is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of a attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property.
The sheriff said a grand jury indicted Byers.
The identity of the juvenile killed has not been released by law enforcement.
Nicholas Ardoin, 18, of Church Point, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and initially charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property.
The shooting occurred Tuesday shortly after 7 p.m. at South McMillan and East Ebey streets.
The 14-year-old was struck and was taken by air to an area hospital. He died Wednesday afternoon of his injuries.
