A man, who has been charged with DWI on five separate occasions and was under suspension from a previous DWI, has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run that occurred near Rayne on Sunday.

Shortly before midnight Wednesday, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies stopped Allen Savoy, 27, of Church Point, but he fled, Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said in a news release.
A 20-year-old Church Point man has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of farm workers Thursday on Maggie Lane near Church Point.
