Tri-Parish workforce down slightly, jobless rate creeps up

The Tri-Parish workforce totaled 68,181 in May, down 258 from May a year ago, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The report also showed unemployment rates up slightly in May compared to rates in May 2022. The unemployment rates by parish in May were: — St Landry, 4.9%, up from 4.

Lafayette superintendent Irma Trosclair to become Eunice High principal

After five years leading the Lafayette Parish School System as superintendent, Irma Trosclair announced Monday she is resigning that position and will become principal/zone leader at Eunice High School. The move will be a homecoming for Trosclair.
