Prosecutor considering charges for troopers in Ronald Greene’s death

Third District Attorney John Belton told a House committee Thursday that he will convene a grand jury to consider charges against the state troopers involved in the death of Ronald Greene.

City awarded $400K for walking park

The Eunice Community Nature Trail is to receive $400,000 in COVID-related funds to rehabilitate the walking trail. Mayor Scott Fontenot announced the grant awarded by Gov. John Bel Edwards following a meeting Thursday to set the agenda for Tuesday’s 6:30 p.m. Board of Aldermen meeting.
Two Eunice High School students, Baylie Guillory and Dylan Fuselier, were recognized at the St. Landry Parish School Board meeting Thursday. The students are the first in the state to earn dual enrollment technical college degrees. School Board OKs $1K stipend

The St. Landry Parish School Board spent most of its meeting time recognizing student achievement during their meeting Thursday. The Board approved a $1,000 stipend for full-time employees and $500 for part-time employees from COVID relief funds.
