Paul Ceasar passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 61. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Pastor Caleb Semien officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Barbara Stebbins Butcher

Barbara Stebbins Butcher passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the age of 79. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Brother Dave Plunkett officiating. Cremation will follow Services.

Mary "Boogalou" Johnson Jones

EUNICE – Funeral services for Mary “Boogalou” Johnson Jones, 65, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Word Ministries in Eunice with the visitation observed from 8 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.

Elaine Sattler Moseley passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the age of 90. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Pastor Kevin Richard officiating. Burial will follow in Maxie Cemetery.

Gwilym Rea Morris passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 68. No Services have been planned at this time. Gwilym is survived by one son, Brandon Morris; one daughter, Jamie Morris; one sister, Deanne M.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. November 19-21 Freddie Francis, Jr., 68, 700 block of S. Bullard Street, Opelousas. Aggravated second degree battery. Arrested by Opelousas Police. Joshua T. O’Neal, 30, 200 block of Majors Road, Melville.

VFW to collect for Toys for Tots

The VFW ‘s toy drive to support Toys for Tots at the VFW Post on U.S. 190 is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A drop off will be there so Boy Scout 425 and VFW veterans can collect unwrapped toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive.
