(UPDATED) Helicopter pilot makes emergency landing in Patterson

PATTERSON — A PHI Inc. helicopter pilot landed safely Monday morning at Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport after a brief scare related to the aircraft’s control led the sheriff’s office, two fire departments and Acadian Ambulance to stand by.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. April 16 Barry Bordelon, 35, 600 block of North 11th Street, Eunice. Possession of Schedule II drug two grams and possession of drug paraphernalia second offense. Jeffery D. Fontenot, 37, 3600 Iota Highway, Iota. Warrant for domestic abuse battery.

Robert David

Robert David passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at the age of 71. No arrangements have been made at this time. Burial will take place at Ashford Cemetery at a later date. Robert is survived by his wife, Linda H.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. April 16 Alexander Cole Olivier, 21, 2000 block of Hwy, 31, Arnaudville. Possession of schedule I CDS; possession of schedule II; illegal carrying of weapons; violation of personal watercraft.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. April 13 Raymond Celestine, 45, 5000 block of Chataignier St., Chataignier. Possession of Schedule II CDS, posssession of legend drug without prescription, possession of Schedule IV CDS and failure to signal. David Coleman, 39, 1000 block of N. 2nd St.

WC Read Fire Dept. BBQ fundraiser set W.C. Read Fire Departments’ annual BBQ will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday. The BBQ dinners will be sold for $8 each at the WC Read Station located at intersection of Hwy. 13 and Hwy. 374. There will also be a bake sale.

Rayne, Church Point take a step toward cultural districts

Two Acadia Parish municipalities are one step closer to having their own cultural districts. Through resolution, the Acadia Parish Police Jury went on record Tuesday in support of the applications of Rayne and Church Point for the creation of cultural districts.
