EMTL registration now underway The Eunice Men’s Tennis League will begin play for the Spring League on Feb. 17. Registration is set through Feb. 11 at the law office of Terry Hoychick, at 141 S. 6th Street, Eunice. Dues are $30. A captains’ meeting will be Feb.

St. Landry Parish school district ends fiscal year on the plus side

The St. Landry Parish School Board ended is fiscal year on June 30 2024, on the plus side of the ledger, but with cautionary notes from its financial officer in an audit presented on Monday. Casey Ardoin, CPA of Kolder, Slaven & Company LLC, summarized the audit in a Commitee of the Whole meeting.

Demographic numbers are stark for the parish’s public schools

The numbers presented to the St. Landry Parish School Board by demographer Mike Hefner pointed to a bleak future for the school district. Hefner was commissioned by the Board to do a five-year student population project last year.
