EMTL fall registration set The Eunice Men’s Tennis League (EMTL) will begin its 2024 fall season league on Aug. 19. Registration is underway through Aug. 12 at the law office of Terry Hoychick, 141 South 6th, Eunice. Dues are $30. Captains’ meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Hoychick’s office.

Ville Platte man killed in hit-and-run crash in Acadia Parish 

Shortly after 12:00 a.m. Friday, Louisiana State Police Troop I troopers began investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Jasmine Road and Interstate 10 Service Road in Acadia Parish. The crash claimed the life of 41-year-old Coby Ortego of Ville Platte.
