Eunice mom, acquaintance accused of abusing 35-year-old woman

Two Eunice women have been charged with aggravated battery of a 35-year-old woman, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson.
One of the women charged, Sarah Montet, 57, is the mother of the victim, Gibson said.
The person arrested is Brances Guillory, 45, also of Eunice.
The arrests followed a welfare call int he 2400 block of Perchville Road near Eunice in Acadia Parish.
“Our deputies were dispatched to a welfare concern as family members living outside of the residence were concerned about the well being of an individual. Our deputies discovered that the female victim, who is 35 years of age, had signs of physical abuse due to visible injuries and bruising” Gibson said.
The victim was removed from the residence and placed with other family members as the investigation unfolded. The investigation revealed that the injuries sustained by the victim were that of abuse and were supported by medical records.
“This investigation remains open as we work to determine how long the abuse has been occurring and to what level of abuse was applied. The victim remains with other family members at this time” Gibson said.
