Bridget Ortego joined the LSU AgCenter staff in St. Landry Parish on April 3 and is assigned to teach nutrition in St. Landry Parish and Pointe Coupee parishes.
Ortego received her bachelor of science in dietetics from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette in May 2009 and attended graduate school and completed her dietetics internship at Louisiana Tech in Ruston.
Ortego will be enrolled at LSU this fall to work towards completing her master’s degree.
Raised in St Landry Parish, she resides in Washington with sons, Adrian and Parker. Prior to becoming a registered dietitian, Ortego has more than 15 years of experience as a nurse and has taught high school science in St Landry Parish the last two years.
