Eunice aldermen will be asked to amend an ordinance governing building demolitions.
That was one of the items placed on the Tuesday meeting of the Eunice Board of Aldermen. The Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
The changes were requested by Bill Thompson, code enforcement officer.
The amendments include a con- tract in writing obligating the owner to have the work done must contain:
— A copy of city of Eunice demolition or renovation permit pur- chased by the owner from the city’s Occupational License and Permits
Department.
— Owner of the prop-
erty is responsible for removal of all debris.
— Completion of demolition or repairs must be done in 30 to 60 days.
— If a structure is demolished, the lot must be leveled off.
— Fines will be assessed is an owner is noncompliant.
Also on the agenda as of Thursday is a hear- ing on property at 1120 Sittig Road. There is also a request from Thompson for a hearing on property at 411 S. CC Duson.
An appointment to the city’s civil service board is also due. Mayor Scott Fotnenot is to present two names and recommend one to the aldermen. The appointment is necessary following the death of Donald Smith, was named last month.
Aldermen also will be asked to approved declaring a fire truck as surplus. The truck, Unit 7, has been with the Fire Department since 1979, Chief Mike Arnold said.
A liquor license for Phat Stock’s Lounge at 1141-A E. Laurel Ave. is on the agena.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot is to deliver a report on Eula Street and Dudley Avenue traffic requested by Alderwoman Connie Thibodeaux.
