State park cabins to reopen

Cabins at Lake Bistineau, Lake Fausse Pointe and Tickfaw State Parks are to be reopened.
Reservations can be made, effective immediately, for stays beginning Monday, Oct. 22.
Lt Gov. Billy Nungesser said, “It’s my pleasure to be able to announce that all Louisiana State Parks will be nearly fully operational in October following the March and August floods of 2016.”
He added, “Our staff has worked tirelessly to get these cabins available for our guests, and we look forward to continuing to provide quality outdoor recreation in Louisiana.”
With the cabins reopening, Lake Bistineau State Park will be completely reopen except for Group Camp 2, and Tickfaw State Park – including the group camp – will be completely reopen. Cabins 1–8 at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park are reopening in this stage, with the remaining cabins anticipated to reopen by late winter/early spring 2019.
Reservations at Louisiana State Parks facilities can be made by visiting ReserveLaStateParks.com, seven days a week, 7:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. or by calling 877-226-7652, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
