The 24th annual Noel on the Prairie was held Saturday and Sunday. The Holiday Shopping Spree gala event was held at 37 participating Eunice businesses. Many shoppers took advantage of the weekend as some businesses offered discounts throughout their stores. Shoppers also had an opportunity to place a 12-stamped- holiday card into a drawing that will be drawn on Thursday for a chance to win $925 worth of gift prizes from each participating merchant. LSU Eunice hosted its fourth annual Trunk or Treat on campus Sunday afternoon. The event was free to the public. There were 31 Halloween decorated vendors plus seven local fire and police vehicles. People manning the vendors gave out candy to the trick-or-treaters.
The event was hosted by LSUE Staff Senate with help from various campus groups as well as community partners including the Eunice Fire Department, Eunice Marshal’s office, the Eunice Police Department, St. Landry Parish Sheriff, and others.

St. Thomas More Catholic Church Bazaar was held Saturday and Sunday.
People enjoyed different foods, some included gumbo, shrimp etouffee, shrimp kabobs, BBQ hamburgers, french fries, nachos, pulled pork sandwiches, corn dogs, sweets, frozen casseroles and much more.
There were bingo games, a silent and live auction, live music, kids games and activities, a petting zoo, inflatable games, cake walk, corn hole tournament and much more. (Photos by Myra Miller)
