Eunice High School students celebrate homecoming

Eunice High School students are celebrating homecoming this week with out-of-uniforms dress days. On Monday, seniors dressed in togas and underclassmen dressed in different colors. Tuesday is declared Boomers and Babies. “Horror” dress day will be recognized on Wednesday, and Thursday many students will be seen as “Dynamic Duos” on campus. On Friday students will dress in the traditional Green and White Day.

911 Remembrance, Honor, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice

On Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, Ardoin’s Funeral Homes in Eunice, Iota, Ville Platte and Basile provided free barbecue plate lunches for all first-responders, as well as its’ city employees, city council and others who work to serve its community.
Ardoin’s in Eunice had their staff and volunteer cooks on site that prepared barbecue pork steaks and all the trimmings. Bill Wimberly, Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice manager, said 200 plates were prepared.

Hurricane Ida

South Lafourche Library in Cut Off received heavy damage from Hurricane Ida. The photos are submitted by Amber Brown Dufrene of Cut Off, Travis Land of Seguin, Texas, and Dana Pierce of Cut Off, friends of the Dufrene family. Land and Pierce were helping Paul Dufrene with cleanup. Photos are scenes from Cut Off, Galliano and Larose areas in Lafourche Parish.)
