Eunice High School celebrated its annual Renaissance Pep Rally Friday morning. The event is considered an academic excellence celebration and its focus is on students who go above and beyond in academic performance. Students earning a 3.0 grade point average and above are awarded for their excellent grades throughout the year.

The St. Landry Parish Cattlemen's Here's the Beef Cook-off was held Saturday at the Ag Arena in Opelousas. It was the 35th annual cook-off and organizers thought it was the biggest crowd ever. There 97 cooking entries for judging. (Photos by Harlan Kirgan)
