In Honor and Remembrance (9-11) at Eunice Circle Park

In Honor and Remembrance 9/11 ceremony was held Wednesday at the Eunice Circle Park sponsored by the Woodmen of the Life Chapter 243 in conjunction with the VFW Post 8971, American Legion Post 129, and DAV Chapter 19. The ceremony honors the heroes and victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, and also pays tribute to members of the military, both current and past, who selflessly protect America’s freedom and liberty.

First Responders Appreciation luncheon held at Ardoin's

On Sept. 11, Ardoin’s Funeral Homes in Eunice, Iota and Basile provide free barbecue plate lunches to all first-responders. Ardoin’s in Eunice had their staff and volunteer cooks on site that prepared barbecue pork steaks and all the trimmings, actually 225 plate lunches. Bill Wimberly is the general manager at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. Ardoin’s has provided barbecue plate lunches since 2002. Wimberly added, “We honor those who serve, and we celebrate and remember all who selflessly served. We thank all who continue to serve in all capacities.” (Photos by Myra Miller)

Eunice students report for first day of classes
