Students returned to school Wednesday at St. Edmund Catholic School for their first day of the 2019-2020 school session.

A Memorial Day service was held at 5 p.m. Monday at the corner of Park Avenue and 2nd Street in Eunice.
The annual event was sponsored by the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of the Foreign Wars, Doucet-Aucoin Post 8971 and the American Legion Post 129 Turner-Mornhinveg Moore.

The inaugural Gulf Coast Brotherhood Ride started from the LSUE campus Monday morning on a five-day, 440-mile ride to Orange Beach, Alabama, to honor a dozen fallen first responders and raise money for the families. (Photos by Harlan Kirgan)
