2 of 36 guns stolen in Eunice burglary recovered

Two of the 32 pistols stolen in a burglary discovered Dec. 23 at Double Action on Maple Avenue have been recovered.
Eunice Police Chief said both guns were recovered from juveniles in Opelousas.
On Saturday, Opelousas Police stopped a person for a curfew violation and found one of the guns.
On Tuesday afternoon, two juveniles were stopped by Opelousas Police after reports of juveniles brandishing weapons, he said.
One of the juveniles fled, but a pistol was found in the waist band of the other juveniles.
Fontenot said 32 pistols ranging from .22 caliber to .45 caliber were stolen from Double Action.
Also stolen were two AR15-type weapons and two 12 gauge shotguns, he said.
About 5 a.m. police discovered the front door of the building broken. They also found the power had been cut to the business.
Fontenot said the juveniles are being charged with possession of stolen property in Opelousas.
Fontenot reported two juveniles were arrested in Eunice in possession of stolen guns. One of the guns came from Opelousas and the other from the Lafayette area.
