St. Landry Crime Stoppers and Detective Jessica Tezeno of the Eunice Police Department are asking the public for help in solving an attempted burglary which led to the death of a Eunice man.
Officers responded to the 500 block of Juanita Street in Eunice for a report of shots being fired on Dec. 27.
When officers arrived, they located the homeowner suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to the evidence it is believed that he surprised the suspects who were attempting to steal his vehicle from his driveway.
The suspect vehicle is a grey or light colored compact car with multiple suspects inside. At least one of the suspects was identified as a black male.
Detectives are asking citizens to review their home security cameras between midnight and 7 a.m. Dec. 27 for any vehicles fitting the description or suspicious persons walking in yards or on the street.
