A Eunice man was arrested as a principal to attempted first-degree murder.
Demante Gallow, 18, 1300 block of Dudley Street, was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on Tuesday.
He was arrested for a drive-by shooting that occurred on East Maple and Lewis streets on Jan. 3, according to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot.
A juvenile was wounded in the lower leg in the shooting.
According to the dispatch logs, several shell casings were found on East Maple and more near a barber shop.
“The guy that got shot we don’t know why they would have shot him. He’s not one we’ve ever had trouble with. He’s not involved in any of the little gang activity in town. So, we are just baffled by that one,” Fontenot said.
The bullet went in and exited without causing any serious injury, he said.
Several rounds were fired, but the man was hit only once, Fontenot said.
