Eunice Police were still sorting through a report of an attempted armed robbery Friday morning even thought a suspect had been arrested.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a call was received from a guy who said a gun had been pointed at him.
Police dispatch logs state the call from the 100 block of Gaspard came three minutes after midnight Thursday.
The victim told the officer that an acquaintance had called him asking for a cigarette, he said.
When the victim opened the door there were three people including the person who called. Two of the people had pistols, he said.
They trio demanded money and tried to gain entrance into the residence, Fontenot said.
The victim closed the door and called police.
Diante M. Anderson, 18, 1300 block of St. Mary Road, Eunice was arrested and charged with principle to attempted armed robbery.
Fontenot said Anderson was the unarmed person among the trio at the door.
The other two people, as of Friday morning, had not been identified, he said.
The victim said it was cigarette that had been requested while the arrested man said it involved marijuana, Fontenot said.
