Eunice firefighters received a call at 3:50 a.m. Thursday and responded to a house fire off of the Perchville Road, southeast of the Eunice city limits.
The vacant home, at 354 Saddle Drive, was completely engulfed in flames when responders from Eunice Fire department, Acadia District 4, St. Landry Parish fire district 6, Branch fire department, Richard and Iota fire departments arrived at 3:59 a.m.
According to Eunice Fire Chief Michael Arnold, “A fire commander on the scene thought the fire to be suspicious, and made a call to the State Fire Marshal.”
The home was completely destroyed from the fire and the cause of fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
