A family squabble is believed to be behind a shooting that occurred about 3 p.m. Sunday at East Maple Avenue and Carron Street, according to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot.
The wounded man was in a vehicle when he shot in the shoulder from a person believed to be on foot, Fontenot said.
The wounded man was taken to Acadian Medical Center where he was treated an released.
“We are still looking for witnesses that are willing to tell us what they saw,” Fontenot said.
The man was believed to have been wounded by a rifle shot, but police think a pistol may have also been used in the shooting.
Fontenot said there may have been two shooters.
“The victim is claiming he doesn’t know who shot him,” he said.
The shooting is believed to have been a carryover from a dispute at nightclub Saturday night, he said.
