A Eunice man was arrested after striking a vehicle and then literally running from the scene, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Adam Paul Lomas, 36, of the 500 block of South 9th Street, is accused of driving a 2007 Ford pickup truck into a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck on South 9th Street near Eunice Junior High School.
Fontenot said the wreck, which occurred at about 6 p.m. Thursday, injured the other driver, who was taken to Acadian Medical Center.
Lomas left the scene of the wreck running and was apprehended a couple blocks of away, Fontenot said.
Lomas is charged with vehicle negligent injuring, open container, careless operation and hit and run.
Lomas refused a breath test and, after a search warrant, his blood was taken for a test for intoxicants at the State Police crime lab in Baton Rogue, he said.
